Nonprofit Cloud Migration
Solutions / Charities & nonprofits / Nonprofit Cloud migration
Move from NPSP to Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud without losing a single donor record.
NPSP is still supported, but Salesforce now builds its nonprofit capabilities natively into Nonprofit Cloud. Moving across is a re-implementation, not an upgrade. We assess, plan, migrate and govern it, so your fundraising never stops.
What actually changes
NPSP and Nonprofit Cloud are different products
Nonprofit Cloud is not a new version of NPSP. It uses a different data model, so records, automation and reports all need to be mapped and rebuilt.
| Area | NPSP | Nonprofit Cloud |
|---|---|---|
| Architecture | Managed packages installed on top of Salesforce | Built natively into the Salesforce platform |
| Supporters | Household accounts with contacts | Person Accounts |
| Regular giving | Recurring Donations | Gift Commitments |
| Relationships | Affiliations and relationships | Actionable Relationship Center |
| Programmes | Separate Program Management Module | Programme and outcome management built in |
| Automation | Flows and NPSP settings | Flows, OmniStudio and Business Rules Engine |
Is it time to move?
When migrating makes sense — and when it can wait
Good reasons to move now
- Your NPSP org carries years of customisation and technical debt
- You want AI agents and Salesforce’s newest nonprofit features
- You are launching new programmes, grants or outcome reporting
- You are re-implementing or merging CRMs anyway
Reasons to wait
- Your NPSP org is stable and meets your needs
- A key integration is not yet Nonprofit Cloud-compatible
- There is no budget or team capacity this year
- A major appeal or audit is about to start
Our approach
A governed migration in five stages
- 01
Readiness assessment
Data audit, integration inventory, licence review and a gap analysis, with a clear go / no-go.
- 02
Target design
Person Accounts model, gift commitments, soft credits and relationships mapped to your way of working.
- 03
Data cleansing & rehearsals
Deduplication, an old-to-new ID crosswalk and full dry-runs in a sandbox.
- 04
Rebuild & integrate
Automation, reports, dashboards and integrations rebuilt — not copied one-for-one.
- 05
Cut-over & adoption
Go-live plan, user training and hypercare, with PMO governance throughout.
What we protect during the move
- Gift Aid declarations, consents and contact preferences
- Regular-giving schedules and payment references
- Soft credits, tributes and relationship history
- Address history (Nonprofit Cloud handles addresses differently)
- Payment, email and event integrations

FAQ
Nonprofit Cloud migration questions
Is NPSP being retired?
Salesforce continues to support NPSP and, at the time of writing, has not announced an end-of-life date. New nonprofit capabilities are being built on Nonprofit Cloud, so planning early avoids a rushed move later.
Will we lose any data?
No. Every record is mapped, migrated and reconciled against an old-to-new ID crosswalk, with rehearsals in a sandbox before go-live.
How long does it take?
It depends on your data volume, customisation and integrations. The readiness assessment gives you a fixed plan, timeline and budget before you commit.
Will our licences change?
Possibly. We review your current licences as part of the assessment so you can discuss options with Salesforce with clear numbers.
